It's just been reported that director Catherine Hardwicke will NOT be directing 'New Moon'. Here's the story with link:

Summit Entertainment Co-Chairman/CEO Rob Friedman just phoned me to add: "Catherine and Summit have agreed to part ways on the sequel because our visions are different." The start-up studio's hastily prepared statement (below) notes: "Summit’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, New Moon, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen." New Moon Auditions "New Moon", Summit Entertainment's sequel to the highly successful feature film "Twilight", is now currently in pre-production and casting directors are accepting photos and resumes from talent. Shrieking masses descend on L.A. for the 'Twilight' premiere There were hundreds of people lining the Los Angeles streets screaming and chanting. There were homemade signs, punny slogans, and custom T-shirts. Attendees declared whose team they were on. There were moms and daughters, men and women, couples and singles. There were even a few people so overcome by emotion that tears were shed. They stood for hours, some for days, to make sure their opinions were seen and heard despite the harsh, ashy air quality caused by the numerous nearby wildfires. Now the speculation can end. The fans can see what director Catherine Hardwicke has done to their beloved book.

Stop worrying. Hardwicke’s is a very loyal big-screen version of the lengthy book. A few minor scenes have been deleted. A couple of sequences got condensed. But overall, the film unfolds the same way the pages turn.

'Twilight' tickets selling like hot cakes! There's this new movie coming out this weekend called "Twilight." Maybe you've heard. Apparently, it has something to do with vampires or what have you.

OK, clearly, you've heard, since Fandango.com is reporting that more than 500 of its midnight shows Thursday (technically Friday) across the nation are sold out.

That's crazy, folks. Wait, there's more:

86 percent of Fandango's daily ticket sales Monday (as of 5 p.m. EDT) were for "Twilight." No. 2 on that list? The new James Bond flick "Quantum of Solace" at 5 percent. Read more...

Twilight' soundtrack rules the charts!
The soundtrack for the vampire-romance "Twilight" is capitalizing on the growing excitement for the film.

More than two weeks before "Twilight" hits theaters, the movie's soundtrack topped the album charts, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Released by Atlantic Records, the "Twilight" soundtrack sold 165,000 copies last week, becoming the third soundtrack of the year to go to No. 1.


Summit Develops 'Twilight' Sequels
Company snags 'New Moon, 'Eclipse' and 'Breaking Dawn' With ticket presales for "Twilight" already through the roof, Summit Entertainment is moving into development on a series of sequels.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the company has acquired the rights to "New Moon," "Eclipse" and "Breaking Dawn," Stephenie Meyers' three "Twilight" follow-ups.

British actor Robert Pattinson, who plays a vampire in the upcoming film "Twilight," admits he is a bit overwhelmed by the reception he is getting from fans.

Meyer Got Twilight Rules in Writing As fans know, the vampires of Twilight have a different set of rules from the standard lore. When author Stephenie Meyer first sold the movie rights, she quickly found that Hollywood wasn't respecting the world she had created. "I actually sold the rights to a different company [first]," Meyer told ReelzChannel at this weekend's Twilight junket.
"I got a look at the script and, you know, objectively [it was] probably a decent vampire movie. [But] it had nothing at all to do with Twilight. That was kind of a horrifying experience. Vampire Edward Cullen Transforms Into Artist Salvador Dali Okay. I'm not sure if I can recover from seeing photos of everyone's favorite film vampire Edward Cullen (sigh) as painter Salvador Dali. The actor, Rob Pattinson, wears a little skinny mustache for which the surrealist artist was so famous for having. I did not need to see any of those photos. They may have just ruined the movie version of Edward for me!

Here's the deal: After the actor, formerly Cedric Diggory of Harry Potter fame, finished working on the movie version of Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight," he filmed a movie called "Little Ashes" about Dali's life and paintings. "Little Ashes" will be released in 2009.

OK, so maybe "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson was just getting into the Halloween mood at last night's Hollywood Film Festival Awards and the Starz after-party in Beverly Hills.

There to accept the New Hollywood award, Pattinson looked more than a little undead when he hit the arrivals carpet.

Kellan Lutz and Ashley Greene, who will portray siblings Emmett and Alice Cullen in the much-anticipated "Twilight" movie due in theatres next month, have agreed to meet fans and appear at TwiCon - expected to be the largest of the fan conventions dedicated to the Stephenie Meyer books. More than 2,500 devotees of the Twilight series are expected to descend on Dallas July 30-Aug. 2, 2009, to celebrate their devotion to the vampire romance series. Read more...

Twenty-eight days to go...

Perhaps more important, there are only eight days until Halloween. So today's offering is a "Twilight" costume guide. Because, let's face it, it's not easy to dress up as "Twilight" characters (at least in ways non-fans will understand.) Bella's a pretty normal if clumsy girl with sometimes frizzy brown hair. She wears jackets most of the time in cold, overcast Forks. Edward's a vampire doing his best not to look like, well, a vampire.

'Twilight' star Pattinson shines in film, 'How to Be' After a long day at the Austin Film Festival, I was ready to sit down, relax and enjoy a full-length feature film. Unfortunately, not all my wishes were fulfilled. I did enjoy "How to Be," but it was far from a relaxing experience.

Since the movie theater was 15 minutes away from downtown Austin, I decided to leave early to make sure I found the place. To my surprise, I pulled up to the theater and found two lines wrapping around the building.

After getting in line, I found out director and writer Oliver Irving and actor Robert Pattinson would be at the screening of the film to hold a question and answer session after the movie. After shamelessly eavesdropping on several conversations, I discovered the attraction of the film; Pattinson plays Edward Cullen in "Twilight." With a few exceptions, everyone in line was eager to meet the actor. Read more here..

"Twilight" Series Holds 5 Entries In Amazon Top 10 This WeekThere was not much of a shake-up this week on the Amazon Best Seller List as nearly all of last week's entries are holding down their places in the Top 10. Last week's #1, "The Shack" by William P. Young continues to top the chart. The Christian fiction book, about a man who has conversations with God after the death of his 6-year-old daughter, continues its streak as a best-selling, word-of-mouth success.

The rest of the list practically belongs to the Twilight series. The romantic vampire saga from author Stephenie Meyer has 5 entries on the Top 10 list. Breaking Dawn, the latest book in the series, is #2 this week, while Twilight, Book 1 in the series, is at #3. Eclipse, Book 3, and New Moon, Book 2 are at #7 and #8 respectively. The latest addition to the best-selling list, "Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion" by Mark Cotta Vaz, features full-color photos, behind-the-scenes details, storyboards and more from the upcoming film adaptation.
