'Twilight' hunk Robert Pattinson is starting to scare us!

OK, so maybe "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson was just getting into the Halloween mood at last night's Hollywood Film Festival Awards and the Starz after-party in Beverly Hills.

There to accept the New Hollywood award, Pattinson looked more than a little undead when he hit the arrivals carpet.

Is it just me or does he look like a ve-ry hungry vampire?

Forks, Washington becomes a mecca for devout Twilight pilgrims Excerpt:
"On her website, Meyer explained her choice of Forks:

For my setting, I knew I needed someplace ridiculously rainy. I turned to Google, as I do for all my research needs, and looked for the place with the most rainfall in the U.S. This turned out to be the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. I pulled up maps of the area and studied them, looking for something small, out of the way, surrounded by forest... And there, right where I wanted it to be, was a tiny town called "Forks." It couldn't have been more perfect if I had named it myself. I did a Google image search on the area, and if the name hadn't sold me, the gorgeous photographs would have done the trick. Blood lust: Vampire tales chilled, thrilled us for more than 80 years There’s something about a vampire story that just grabs you by the throat and sucks you right in.

Maybe it’s the idea of being a vampire — sleeping all day and going out every night (no more grocery shopping!). Never having to worry about wrinkles or middle-age spread or that inconvenient dying thing (barring the unlikely event of a stake through the heart or exposure to sunlight).

Or maybe it’s the allure of being with a vampire, like Bella Swan and the impossibly hunky Edward Cullen in Stephenie Meyer’s wildly popular Twilight series (hang on, kids — the movie’s less than a month away). Really, who could say no to a beautiful bad boy who lives forever and never loses his hair? . . Read more...

Twilight Talk October 24

Gratuitous image from Big Hitter.

E Online has a storyn about Robert Pattinson being mobbed at an airport in Mexico. There's a Youtube link, but it doesn't work! But there are plenty of other (amatuer, mostly) vids you can look at. Here's a really short one:

'Twilight' countdown: Look like Bella and Edward on Halloween:
Twenty-eight days to go...

Perhaps more important, there are only eight days until Halloween. So today's offering is a "Twilight" costume guide. Because, let's face it, it's not easy to dress up as "Twilight" characters (at least in ways non-fans will understand.) Bella's a pretty normal if clumsy girl with sometimes frizzy brown hair. She wears jackets most of the time in cold, overcast Forks. Edward's a vampire doing his best not to look like, well, a vampire.

So how best to celebrate in costume? Work the details...Read the rest here...

'Twilight' star Pattinson shines in film, 'How to Be'
After a long day at the Austin Film Festival, I was ready to sit down, relax and enjoy a full-length feature film. Unfortunately, not all my wishes were fulfilled. I did enjoy "How to Be," but it was far from a relaxing experience.

Since the movie theater was 15 minutes away from downtown Austin, I decided to leave early to make sure I found the place. To my surprise, I pulled up to the theater and found two lines wrapping around the building.

After getting in line, I found out director and writer Oliver Irving and actor Robert Pattinson would be at the screening of the film to hold a question and answer session after the movie. After shamelessly eavesdropping on several conversations, I discovered the attraction of the film; Pattinson plays Edward Cullen in "Twilight." With a few exceptions, everyone in line was eager to meet the actor. Read more here..

Three reasons Robert Pattinson should host 'Saturday Night Live'Here at PopWatch, we're staunch supporters of thoughful debate, citizen activism, rocking the vote, and all such democratic ideals. 'Twilight' Soundtrack Now Online? It's perhaps the most sought-after movie soundtrack of the year, and now it's kinda sorta available online for you to throw on in the background while you dream of sexy vampire boyfriends and ... dark stuff! Yup, looks like most of the upcoming Twilight soundtrack has hit YouTube, and it features songs from angsty bands like Linkin Park, Collective Soul, The Black Ghosts and -- wait for it -- the super misunderstood hottie Robert Pattinson himself on a tune called Never Think. (Tell me this guy Pattinson didn't pick the right movie to sign on to? I hope he sends his agent flowers and candy every single day.)

"Twilight" Series Holds 5 Entries In Amazon Top 10 This WeekThere was not much of a shake-up this week on the Amazon Best Seller List as nearly all of last week's entries are holding down their places in the Top 10. Last week's #1, "The Shack" by William P. Young continues to top the chart. The Christian fiction book, about a man who has conversations with God after the death of his 6-year-old daughter, continues its streak as a best-selling, word-of-mouth success.

The rest of the list practically belongs to the Twilight series. The romantic vampire saga from author Stephenie Meyer has 5 entries on the Top 10 list. Breaking Dawn, the latest book in the series, is #2 this week, while Twilight, Book 1 in the series, is at #3. Eclipse, Book 3, and New Moon, Book 2 are at #7 and #8 respectively. The latest addition to the best-selling list, "Twilight: The Complete Illustrated Movie Companion" by Mark Cotta Vaz, features full-color photos, behind-the-scenes details, storyboards and more from the upcoming film adaptation. The book won't be released until October 28th but it comes in at #10 this week in pre-orders. Read more...

'Twilight' Already Gearing Up for Sequel (And New Pics from the First One)! Twilight’s been receiving an insane amount of press recently with its release drawing near. As of now, the film has everything going for it: Harry Potter’s release date (when the next Potter got pushed back, Twilight jumped on the 11/21 slot like a rabid… well, vampire), Harry Potter’s tween dreamboat (Oh Harry, thank God for you that Cedric Diggory got killed because you have about as much a shot of competing with him as Rick Moranis does competing with Fabio for a woman’s affection), and crowds and crowds of screaming, crying teenage girls ready to tear down said dreamboat’s (Robert Pattinson’s) trailer. So what does all this mean? Oh, well, you know – this means sequel plans are underway before film 1 is even released. That’s precisely what Deadline Hollywood Daily’s reporting this morning.

‘Twilight’ Run Time Is Announced As Fans Get Ready To Get Bitten As far as news goes, this posting isn’t about quantity so much as quality. Today, the studio behind “Twilight” has announced the film’s official runtime, and it is three numbers that should bring a smile to the face of Stephenie Meyer’s loyal fans: 120 minutes.

See the full story here.

Top 10 Ways Twilight's and True Blood's Heroines Are Alike Vampires are hot these days. Two book series -- both with long runs on The New York Times Best Sellers List -- have made the leap from page to screen. Last month, HBO debuted True Blood, which is based on Charlaine Harris' eight-book The Southern Vampire Mysteries. And on November 21, Stephenie Meyer's Twilight saga hits theaters nationwide.

We asked Shelley Harper, a devoted fan of both series, active contributor to Twilightlexicon.com, and the woman behind Blue's Book Club, to share her insight about this vampire phenomenon and its heroines -- Bella Swan (Twilight) and Sookie Stackhouse (The Southern Vampire Mysteries and True Blood).

'Twilight' Sequel Already in the Works?
Here's a question: Should any studio greenlight a sequel based on advanced buzz and before the original even hits theaters? Sure, if you're a fan of the Twilight novels, I suspect you'd want the studio to greenlight, like, a billion Twilight sequels, like, right this second -- but wouldn't it be a risky move? Nikki Finke over at Deadline Hollywood claims Summit's already prepping the sequel (New Moon), though that's about as far as she goes with it. Finke, however, does state the obvious: that even though the first Twilight film isn't due out until November 21, the latest trailer was viewed over 3.5 million times in 48 hours, the Twilight soundtrack has already hit the Top 5 Best-Selling Albums on Amazon (despite the fact that it doesn't come out until November 4th) and the merchandise for this sucker rivals that of the boy wizard, Harry Potter.

News and Info about the Twilight Saga for October 6, 2008

First Look: "Twilight" Movie Trailer!!! Click here to see it!!!!

Yea, you gotta watch a short commercial first. And some of the video in the trailer is stuff we've seen before but still, it's a cool trailer and looks like a great movie!

MTV reports on the soundtrack for the first movie. Available November 4. Here's what MTV says about it:

"Well, we can stop speculating: On Monday (October 6), the folks at Chop Shop Records (and Atlantic Records too) announced the official track listing for the "Twilight" soundtrack, which arrives in stores on November 4.

And to answer your questions: Yes, Muse are on there. No, Blue October aren't. And neither are Vampire Weekend or the Blood Brothers (they broke up last year, after all).

Instead, the soundtrack boasts contributions from Linkin Park, Iron & Wine, MuteMath and Collective Soul. Also, Team Edward fans will rejoice that star Robert Pattinson's song "Never Think" made the cut. Producers also confirmed that all the songs featured on the soundtrack will actually be in the "Twilight" movie, making good on director Catherine Hardwicke's promise that though Pattinson's version of "Bella's Lullaby" was ultimately replaced, his musical talents didn't go to waste.

In addition to Paramore's "Decode," which premiered on Meyer's Web site last week, their song "I Caught Myself" is also on the soundtrack. According to a source at Atlantic, the band is slated to shoot a video for "Decode," the album's first single, early next week.

Here's the full track list for the "Twilight" soundtrack, according to Chop Shop/ Atlantic:

Muse - "Supermassive Black Hole"
Paramore - "Decode"
The Black Ghosts - "Full Moon"
Linkin Park - "Leave Out All the Rest"
MuteMath - "Spotlight" ("Twilight" mix)
Perry Farrell - "Going All the Way (Into the Twilight)"
Collective Soul - "Tremble for My Beloved"
Paramore - "I Caught Myself "
Blue Foundation - "Eyes on Fire"
Rob Pattinson - "Never Think"
Iron & Wine - "Flightless Bird, American Mouth"
Carter Burwell - "Bella's Lullaby"

And the award for "last on the bandwagon" goes to BlogCritics Magazine who is just now doing a review of Breaking Dawn>! Fortunately the author, Robin Kavanagh, likes it!

Twilight News for October 5, 2008

We've been away for a little while, but now we're back! We'll be updating the blog with news about Twilight as often as we find it!!

An article from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, about the towns of Forks and LaPush, Washington, and how it's experiencing a boom in tourism because of the Twilight books!

A great website about Forks, the Home of Twilight. It's got a great little click-on-it section where you can see little maps of important spots such as the Forks Police Station, and Forks High School. The bumper sticker shown above is for sale in their shop.
